Expect the unexpected && live like there's no tomorrou

This past week has been kind of a eye opener. I don't want to sound cliche, but I've come to realize and appreciate life a lot more. This past week a guy I'd went to middle to high school with passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. He was involved in a deadly car accident and was pronounced dead on impact. I had graduated with him and his mother was an English teacher at the high school we attended. We also had psychology together and sat at the same table at lunch. He was a great guy and student. He was on the swimming team and was an overall role model for students. His death has sent shock around the whole school and everyone that knew him.

His misfortune has made me think a lot of my life. Life is so precious and it's sad that it takes events like these for everyone to realize that. It has also made me think about appreciating everyone in my life that I love or care a lot about. I was on Facebook the day after he passed away and join a support group for his family and friends. I was reading all the sweet things and memories that people were sharing about him and I could not help but feel sad. I kept reading and one comment caught my eye. His brother wrote on the group's wall and he talked about how much he was going to miss him. He said that he wished that he was a better bigger brother and talked to him more. He talked about how much he loved and would miss him. I broke down after I read it.

I can't help but think about his family and friends. I can't imagine losing someone really close to me. I can imagine the pain is unbearable. This has just made me want to appreciate my family and friends a lot more. I have come to the conclusion that life is a precious gift that we should cherish also. My thoughts && prayers go out to his family && friends.

Humor Life

I've sure been writing about love, relationships, && all that jazz a lot soooo I'm going to change it up. This blog will be about having a sense of humor about life. Life's too short to be serious.

Cheeeeesy Joke of the Day - How do you wake up Lady Gaga??

Keep reading for the answer.

The older I get the more serious life seems to become. Maybe it's because of all the responsibilities that come with growing up and getting older. As children we're so happy. We tend to laugh at everything, or at least I did. But the older I got life seemed to be less happy and more serious. Does life lose its sense of humor through age?!?! I surely hope not! Laughing is good for your health. It's actually been scientifically proven. Look it up!

Anyways, I think that you should try to make the best of what you're given. Meaning, even if you're going through a rough patch in life or having a middle age crisis, find something to make you laugh. Find humor in something and laugh it off.

The Little Things

Today I was sitting in class and I was thinking about my relationships, not only with my boyfriend, but with my family and friends also. I was thinking about all the effort and stress put into some of those relationships and then I started thinking about all the little things that brought happiness out also out of those relationships. So here I am, writing a blog about taking joy in the little things. Sometimes it seems like some relationships in life can get bogged down with big expectations that some relationships will just never live up to. But taking pleasure and appreciating the little things in relationships can build any relationship into a strong relationship that will last in any circumstance.

For instance, my relationship with my boyfriend can sometimes get bogged down because we both start to expect a little too much from each other. There are times we forget all about the little things like simply talking to each other about each others' days or asking each other how we're doing that day. Instead we'd sit in silence watching TV and expected each other to know how we already felt or knew how each others' days we're going just by the look on our faces. That would just start petty arguments that could have been solved with just one question. We lost the simple communication between each other. It forced both of us to take a step back and rethink our relationship or we thought we'd have to break-up. I had finally realized to stop thinking he was some kind of mind reader and forced me to start enjoying the simple things like communication. So ladies, enjoy the little things like when your man opens the door for you or wants to talk to simply about his day. Gentlemen, remember that ladies sometimes think that you're Superman mind readers and you're not, but ask her how her day is going. You could also send each other a simple text saying, "Hey, I was just thinking about you and wanted to say hi." That will be sure to put a smile on your face.

Also, take pleasure in the simple things between family and friends. With friends, enjoy the simple time you spend with each other. Treasure the laughs you share and silly moments. Take to heart the sweet conversations with family members. Remember the funny moments that occur at the dinner table. Treasure all the little things. It makes life simple, eases stresses, and will be sure to put a smile on your face, maybe even get a little giggle out of you.

They're never easy, they cause pain && heartache, and I can imagine no one likes them. Sadly, I decided to write this blog about break-ups. They're a sad fact of life, but some good can come out of them. Whether it's finding someone new or learning something new about yourself after a break-up, you're sure to come out on top. Break-ups are tough to handle. Whether it's the ending of a 2 year relationship or a 2 month relationship, it still hurts.

I've had plenty of experience on dealing with break-ups. I've seen the good (if there is such thing as a good break-up), the bad, and the very ugly. It's never easy to give advice about break-ups because everyone deals with them differently. Whether it be grabbing a pint of Ben && Jerry's Chunky Monkey or sobbing your eyes out, try to find comfort. Focus on relaxing and trying to find a way to smile. Don't linger on the woulda, coulda, shoulda's, or what if's. They'll be sure to eat you alive. You're better off in the long run because everything happens for a reason and love will find a way.

In the fall of 2009, I had an ugly break-up with my ex-boyfriend. We'd been together for would have been two years on January 8th. It was really hard on me, but it had to be done. I had lived a certain way for so long that I forgot what life was like without him. Needless to say, I slowly recovered and started living life the way I wanted to without having to consult anyone else. It was different and I hated it for a long time, but I slowly got over it. No one is expected to totally recover from a break-up right after it happens. It takes time to heal. But just know that everything will be okay. You lived before that person, so you can live after them.

To help ease the pain, surround yourself around friends that will be sure to put a smile on your face. Get prettied up and go out and mingle with friends in public. Watch a movie that will be sure to make you giggle. Find something to put a smile on your face no matter what it might be. Everyone goes through break-ups, but it always works out in the end.

New Love

Huge smile, hands shaking, heart pounding, and the feeling of not being able to live without that one person. Yes my friend, it's NEW LOVE! We probably all know how it feels to start a new relationship. It's nerve wrecking and exciting all at the same time. You find yourself speechless and nervous to not scare off the other person. You don't want to make a fool of yourself because you'd hate to look like idiot in front of the new person in your life that you have come to care so much about.

BUT take a breather! INHALE && EXHALE! You've obviously done something right to catch this person's eye and chances are when you first met them because you were yourself because you weren't expecting to fall for them. They've seen something in you that is unlike anyone around because they've chosen you to share this portion of their life with. So be yourself and enjoy each other's company.

I have recently started a new relationship with someone new and I'm loving it. After getting out of a horrible relationship, this new one has been a blessing, but that's a different story for a different blog. Anyways, it's a long distance relationship because I'm at school and he's back home. We try to make it work our best, but being a new relationship, it's more difficult. I find myself in the same position as probably most people in new relationships. I was so quiet and shy at first, but I remembered that he's chosen to be with me. I've done nothing but be my goofy self in front of him and he still chose to stick around. BRAVE GUY! Just kidding. We enjoy every minute together. We talk about anything and everything and there's never a dull moment. I know, you're probably thinking, things are only so great because it's a new relationship, but if you keep things real and be yourself no matter what, you're relationship could go the distance -- if that's what you want.

But honestly, new relationships are great. But always be with someone that makes you happy. Be sure to always be yourself and take it slow. Remember, you have all the time in the world to find someone. Enjoy the feeling of not being able to stand one minute alone without the person. Or not being able to break the gaze you share between each other. Savor the hugs and kisses and not being able to keep your hands off each other. Or texting each other all day and talking on the phone all night. Holding hands and never letting go. Meeting each other's parent's for the first time. Or going on your first date with your new one. It's the fun of new relationships so enjoy it.

Live, Love, && Laugh

Live, love, && laugh are my three rules to live by. Without all three life would seem to be incomplete for me. I believe that you are only given one life and that you should live it to the fullest. You should try to enjoy every waking moment life has to offer no matter if they are good, great, bad, or horrible moments. Life is a gift that everyone should embrace. Go out and experience the world. Live a little by being a dare devil or just doing little things out of the ordinary that you'd never do. I don't want to leave this world with any regrets with how my life turned out. Take life by the horns and enjoy all the things it has to offer.

Everyone is given the chance to love and be loved. You should embrace it and enjoy the feeling. I believe that there is someone out there for everyone. It may take some soul searching and heartache, but I believe that in the long run; it will be well worth it. Love is a wonderful gift that is given to everyone, it just takes time to find it, but it's there. Life is better when it's shared with one person that loves you. Finding someone that you can share the rest of your life with is a great thing. Love is a gift that should be shared with someone that truly matters. Life is too short to live alone.

In order to live a happy life you must laugh. Laugh at yourself, laugh at others, laugh for no reason. Surround yourself with people that you enjoy being around. Laughing has been scientifically proven to release endorphins, which are "feel good" hormones that make you happy. Laughing has also been proven to lengthen life expectancy and helps you stay in good health. Not only does laughing do all those things for you, but it just makes you an overall happier individual. It takes stress out of life and gives you a chance to relax. So the next time you hear a funny joke and want to laugh, just let it out. Who knows, you could add a year or two on to your life expectancy!
